There’s a huge musical fountain, a trolley, a cinema, a fun candy store, concerts every now and then and desserts abound from cupcakes to ice creams. The Grove offers a mix of fun for both the adults and the kids.
But at night, hardly anyone is around but a few couples walking around the park or a family or two taking their kids out to the playground after dinner. I loved coming here at night during the holiday season, despite the super coldness in the weather, because you can see Christmas lights on houses. The boyfriend and I came here a lot before school and work took over. And, a good stop for a local historical lesson. Great for outdoor birthdays and romantic dates. The green grass is spacious, enough for jumpers, picnics, soccer, you name it. In addition, the swings are also next to the edge and so are several benches. My most favorite park of all time and for many reasons! Located at the top of the hill in a residential neighborhood, this park has a rocketship (hence its name) conveniently standing near the edge of the park creating the perfect view. Every time we come here now he quizzes me now on where certain cities are at like Redondo Beach, Torrance, Compton, LA, Hollywood, DTLA, Hawthorne, Long Beach, and Carson etc. He was hella spittin’ some game yo HAHAHAHA. Now I come here with him to reminisce about our perfect awkward first date and how he was so flirty while we were looking at the view together. My babe even said kids watch fireworks from here on the 4 th of July.
